Free, confidential care for women in Cabarrus
and Mecklenburg County.

Cabarrus Women’s Center and U City Women’s Center have served women facing unplanned pregnancies for more than four decades. Every service at both centers is free and completely confidential — no insurance, no billing, no cost to the woman who walks through the door.
 
Our Concord center has been a fixture in Cabarrus County for over 41 years. Our U City center serves the greater Charlotte area, including students and young women near the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Both centers meet women with compassion and medically accurate education, whatever they are facing and whatever they decide.

Why It Matters

A woman facing an unplanned pregnancy is often making the most consequential decision of her life on a short timeline, with limited information and limited support. She may be a college student. She may already be a mother. She may be far from home.
 
What she needs first is a confirmed pregnancy, an accurate gestational age, and someone who will sit with her and answer her questions honestly.
When a woman is healthy, supported, and equipped with real information, she makes her decision from a place of strength instead of fear — and the effects reach her children, her family, and her community for years.

Free Pregnancy Testing

A lab-quality pregnancy test at no cost, with results the same visit and a trained advocate to walk through what comes next.

Limited Ultrasound

A limited obstetric ultrasound performed by trained medical staff to confirm viability, date the pregnancy, and rule out ectopic pregnancy — a condition that can be life-threatening if it goes undetected.

STI Testing

Confidential STI testing and treatment referral. One in five adults in the United States has an STI, and 56% of chlamydia cases occur in people aged 15 to 24 — the exact population our centers serve.

Pregnancy Options

Clear, medically accurate education on every option, including abortion procedures and North Carolina law, so that no woman makes a decision she doesn't understand.

Care That Continues

A woman’s first visit is rarely her last need. Our advocates stay in relationship with her — through pregnancy, through a baby shower sponsored by a local church or family, through referrals to community partners for housing, medical care, and material support.
